English for Quran & Islamic Studies Teachers

About This Course

Families in the UK, United States, Canada and Australia are looking for Quran teachers right now. Many qualified teachers lose those students for one reason that has nothing to do with their knowledge: the parent could not follow the conversation, or the child needed the instruction in English. This course closes that gap.

Who this course is for

  • Quran teachers who teach Nazra, Hifz or Tajweed online and want overseas students
  • Madrasah graduates and Alim or Alima course holders entering online teaching
  • Islamic studies teachers whose students were raised speaking English
  • Teachers already working with diaspora families who find parent updates difficult
  • Any teacher who has been rejected at the trial-class stage and suspects language was the reason

Your Islamic knowledge is not the subject here. Your English is. Beginners are welcome, and the classes are conducted with respect for how you already teach.

What you will be able to do by the end

  • Run a full lesson in simple, clear English: instructions, praise, correction, revision
  • Explain a Tajweed rule in plain English a nine year old understands
  • Give a parent a short weekly progress update, spoken or written
  • Handle scheduling, missed classes, holidays and fee conversations politely
  • Deal with the practical vocabulary of online classes without freezing
  • Introduce yourself in a trial class in a way that makes a parent choose you

Common questions

Will this change how I teach Quran?

No. The method stays yours. We only give you the English to deliver it and to explain it to a parent who does not speak Urdu.

My English is very basic. Am I too far behind?

No. The course starts from the phrases you need in the first five minutes of a lesson and builds outwards. Teachers with almost no spoken English have the most to gain here.

Are the classes taught in English only?

Urdu is used for explanation wherever it helps, especially in the first two weeks. Practice is in English from day one.

Will this help me get more students?

It removes the language barrier that costs teachers trial classes, and week 8 rewrites your tutor profile and introduction. We cannot promise students, but we can make sure language is no longer the reason you lose them.
