Most people who say they cannot code have only ever read about coding. This course is the opposite: you write and run real Python in the first class, and every class after it. By week ten you will have built something that works and that you can explain.
No prior programming experience is needed. If you can use a computer and follow instructions, you can start.
| Week | Topic | You build |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Setup, how code runs, your first program | An interactive greeting program |
| 2 | Variables, data types, input and output | A unit and currency converter |
| 3 | Conditions and logic | A grade calculator using real board rules |
| 4 | Loops | A multiplication table generator and a number guessing game |
| 5 | Lists and dictionaries | A marks record for a whole class |
| 6 | Functions and reusable code | Refactoring week 5 into clean functions |
| 7 | Strings and text handling | A word counter and a simple text formatter |
| 8 | Files, errors and debugging | A program that saves and reloads your data |
| 9 | Introduction to objects, plus useful libraries | A small program using an external library |
| 10 | Final project and code review | Your choice: quiz app, expense tracker or file organiser |
Python needs the least ceremony before you can build something real, so beginners stay motivated. It is also the language used in data science, machine learning and automation, so nothing here is wasted effort later.
It is the foundation, not the finish line. After this, most students go towards either web development or data and machine learning. We will tell you honestly where you stand at week ten.
The fundamentals overlap heavily with O Level, A Level and first-year university programming. If you need syllabus-specific coverage or exam preparation, tell us your board and take one-on-one classes instead, where the tutor can follow your paper pattern.
Usually not yet. Under 13, start with Scratch and move to Python once the logic is familiar.
See what else we run in programming, or if you need help with a specific school or university course rather than a batch, find an online computer science tutor — connecting with a tutor costs you nothing, you only pay the lesson fee you agree.
